Luton born Kerry was firstly a trainee at Tottenham before moving to Reading for £20,000. He went on to be a prolific marksman for Chelsea after his £175,000 move in August 1983, scoring 193 times for the blues.
He won eight England International caps, scoring a memorable brace against Germany in a friendly in Mexico in 1985. He finished his playing career as Player/Manager of Doncaster Rovers.
