Gerry was the first million pound player in Bolton Wanderers history, when they paid £1.5 million to Barnsley for his services in 1995. A true hard man of the modern day game, Gerry’s whole hearted, and no nonsense style made him a real crowd favourite with the fans of all the clubs where he plied his trade. In a career spanning nearly 20 years, and over 600 appearances, Gerry would strongly defend that he was more than unfortunate to see Red on 15 occasions!
